USER INSTRUCTIONS
1. Hold the plug body with the location spigot facing down, lift the socket protection cap on the post and insert the plug as you would your shore power lead or hook-up lead.
2. Push the plug firmly into the socket until seated correctly.
3. The indicator light will hopefully show GREEN, this indicates you have mains power. If the light is RED this indicates there is a problem in the socket with REVERSE POLARITY. If this is the case we recommend testing another outlet to see if this is ok and green. If you are not able to use another socket, it is recommended a changeover polarity adaptor is used should all sockets have a red warning light. The red warning light only comes on when the (blue) neutral wire has been connected to live (line) brown wires location .You can test any lead by first plugging the cable into the power socket and then plug Happy-Plug into the end of the lead.
GREEN IS GOOD and RED IS BAD*.
If the pontoon post or hook-up post tested green and the lead tests red, your lead is reversed wired.
Seek professional help to rectify the faulty cable plug or socket.
WHAT HAPPY-PLUG CAN'T DO
It may sound strange to say what something will not do, however for safety reasons it's important to know the scope of the equipment. HAPPY-PLUG has been designed to address two specific problems on boats and campsites. This is to show if there is power at the socket and to tell if that power is reverse polarity.
*Our diagnostic plug will need the supply socket to be correctly earthed in order to work as designed. It will not show you if the blue neutral wire is missing/disconnected from the supply socket, or when your tea is on the table!
